The Czech Republic Will Provide Medical Equipment to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society Hospital in Al Bireh

Within the framework of the Reconstruction Program of the Czech Republic in the Middle East region for the period 2022 – 2024, the hospital in the city of Al Bireh (part of the Al Bireh – Ramallah conurbation) run by the Palestinian Red Crescent will receive medical equipment from Czech manufacturers on the basis of a so-called tied financial donation. On 19 July 2023, Head of the Representative Office of the Czech Republic Jakub Šlosárek and director of the hospital Iskandar Majlaton signed a contract which will enable the implementation of this particular development project.

The medical equipment will be distributed among several departments of Al Bireh Hospital. One part is intended for the gynecology and obstetrics department, another one will be donated to the neonatal intensive care unit. Technology for operating theaters will be provided too. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society Hospital in Al Bireh was established 35 years ago, and annually receives some 100.000 patients.
