A visit of the delegation from the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the Czech Republic to Ireland (2nd to 5th September 2019)

On the days of 2nd to 5th September 2019 a delegation from the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the Czech Republic visited Ireland. Chairman Marek Benda led the four-person delegation along with, Vice-chairmen Jan Chvojka and Tomáš Kohoutek, and committee member Dominik Feri. A number of fruitful meetings and discussions took place, focusing on legal issues and other topics specific to Ireland.
 

In Dublin, the delegation met with Chairman of the Joint Committee for Justice and Equality, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin, then with Chief Justice Frank Clarke, followed by President of the Commission for Law Reform Mary Laffoy and lastly Secretary to the Citizen’s Assembly Sharon Finegan. In Galway, the delegation met with a local state representative Kennedy Fitzgerald.

The visit was a resounding success and further developed the positive inter-governmental relations between Ireland and the Czech Republic.
