Successful implementation and completion of a new project to Manufacture of Agricultural products in the village of Al-Damina – Homs

In the calendar year 2023, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus successfully implemented a new project to Manufacture of Agricultural products in the village of Al-Damina – Homs as part of the "Small Scale Projects" initiative.
These projects were designed to provide support to various Syrian entities and charitable organizations. The funding for these endeavors was sourced from the Czech government's "Reconstruction Program for the Czech Republic in the Middle East region for the period 2022-2024."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic is contributing to mitigate the consequences of the conflict in Syria and the overall recovery of the country in the most affected areas.

  • Project title: "Manufacture of Agricultural products in the village of Al-Damina – Homs“
  • Implementer: Al Najaht Charity - Homs, Syria.
  • FDC CZ contribution: CZK 480,000

Following the success of the previous project, where the charitable organization Najat played a crucial role in securing job opportunities and providing training for 50 male and female beneficiaries in the field of food processing within a three-month period, and recognizing the project's significance in addressing marketing challenges for agricultural products in the region, an expansion of the initiative has become imperative. The expanded project aims to target 50 new beneficiaries, offering them both job opportunities and training every three months. This extended scope involves the extraction of medicinal and aromatic oils from all plants in the southern countryside of Homs.

Through support for this extended initiative by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus, over 200 individuals now have the opportunity to enhance their capabilities and skills in extracting medicinal and aromatic oils, as well as manufacturing agricultural products. This comprehensive training equips them with valuable experiences, positioning them for potential entry into the labor market. Moreover, the acquired expertise enhances their ability to contribute to productive businesses, generating substantial financial returns and adding significant value to the manufactured products.
