The gala evening was started by performance of The Abuja International Choir, who sang both, the Nigerian and the Czech national anthem. In the choir of truly international composition sang foreigners from 10 different countries as well as many Nigerians. Czech anthem in the four-voices performance was rehearsed by choir under the direction of choir conductor Laura Harvey during October. The National Day reception at the hotel Hilton was held thanks to sponsor donations by Czech companies having direct representation in Nigeria: Veba and Defcon. The event attended by approximately 150 guests.
